What this service is
A single place to describe a mold problem once. You tell us what you are seeing (a musty finished basement after March snowmelt, staining on attic decking, a swamp cooler that smells, soft drywall after a frozen pipe) and where you live. We pass that request to independent local companies that do mold inspection and remediation, and they contact you with quotes.
The quote is free. There is no obligation to hire anyone, and you can stop at any point. We built the site because the Colorado Springs search results are mostly directories and franchise pages, and nobody explains the local questions: why a semi-arid city gets basement mold every spring, when a pre-1980s tear-out needs an asbestos test, what a landlord has to do within 72 hours, and why two quotes for the same wall can differ by thousands.
What this service is not
We are not a mold company. This site does not inspect, test, remove or remediate mold, and does not do plumbing, roofing, HVAC, asbestos or rebuild work. The companies that quote your job are independent businesses. They set their own prices, scope and terms, and any contract is between you and the company you choose.
Colorado Springs Mold Pros is an independent quote service and is not affiliated with any company of a similar name.
How companies take part, and how we are paid
Independent mold inspection and remediation companies that serve El Paso and Teller counties can receive quote requests from this site. Some companies pay a fee to receive requests. That fee is how the site is funded; it never changes what you pay, and it does not mean we have checked a company’s work. We do not verify training, insurance, registrations or reviews, and we don’t rank or recommend one company over another. Compare the quotes yourself using the questions below.
We also don’t publish reviews or job counts, because we don’t have real ones yet. When we do, they will be real.
Why the questions matter: Colorado has no mold license
Colorado does not license mold remediators or mold inspectors. The Pikes Peak Regional Building Department registers building trades, and the state regulates asbestos work, but neither is a mold credential. Any company can offer mold work here, so your questions are the screen. Ask each company for:
- Training. IICRC S520 mold remediation training, ACAC credentials or similar, and how many jobs like yours it has done.
- Insurance. Proof of general liability insurance.
- A written protocol. Containment, what is removed, how the water gets fixed and by whom, drying targets, and how the job is cleared.
- Asbestos and lead. For a pre-1989 home, whether an asbestos test is needed before tear-out. For a pre-1978 home, how lead-safe work rules will be followed.
- Permits. Whether rebuild needs a PPRBD permit, and confirmation that the company pulling it is PPRBD-registered.
This is general information, not legal advice. The process page walks through what a job should look like, and the cost guide shows typical published ranges.
